Well... what better way to start this blog off with something I shouldn't have in my channel! Since this is my personal space and no one can do anything about it since... this blog isn't related to TGN, Youtube or anything else... just myself and what I have to say is news and all.
So yeah I drop off my 3DS on Saturday 9/1 MIT Computers and all I wanted at first was just an unscrew job... which they wanted to make me pay $10 for something that took all of 2 minutes to do -_- Next, they offered they could do my entire job for $60 and have it done in about 30 minutes. I thought that was a sweet deal since it'd be fast and I'd have it that day, although I thought they'd be a bit longer since it didn't seem that easy.
"Umm... it's going to be a little longer." Yeah that figures. So... I was expecting them to just kick me out of the store and to come back on Tuesday (since Sunday they are closed and Monday was a Holiday) and I'd have been fine with that since, that should have been enough time. It takes about an hour after closing for them to come up to me and say "it's installed." Well, it's installed... but... the bottom screen is blue (kinda like a blue screen of death on a PC) and they expected me to pay $60 for that and accept it. Yeah I think you know what my answer was and they told me to come back Tuesday. Yeah... that figures.
Well, Tuesday comes and... the manager picks up the phone. "Sorry the technician isn't here today." Well... this is going to go south it seems... "Umm... when will it be done then?" "I don't know and I can't tell you an estimate either" -_- "Okay I'll call back tomorrow at the same time"
So... now tomorrow being today came and I called them at about the same time I called yesterday. The manager still had no idea when it'd be done and starts complaining it was a harder job than they initially had thought. Well that's when I asked how long would it be again "Sir I don't know this takes time" Well, you don't say that now after you messed with my system, then he starts saying that this is more of an ordeal than what it should be and how this isn't worth the money I was paying them. Well, I explain that this is my job that they are holding me up on (since... 3DS games ARE most of what I got on my channel too) and the guy is like "What kind of job uses a game"

So I explain how I am with a company on Youtube and then he insults me with an "You should use better equipment than this"
-_-* (feels like letting the maker of the capture device know that he was just insulted on his work)
So now he is getting all PO'd at me and so I said I'd call him back later and he responds and hangs up the phone immediately.
Well, I think you all would have done what I did immediately after.... *calls corporate* at first, I thought they would be understanding with me and they sounded it... *at first*... well after the explanation of things they said they'd call back tomorrow or later today and well... they called back about an hour later. Then they kept going on and on about tacking on another $40 to the thing when I even had a receipt that said they would do it for a bit more (not going to go into details on actual price) and it even said on their "install capture card and make sure it works"
Well the guy would not back down from the $40 increase and instead would not listen how I had *written proof* that I should be owing them the original cost. Instead... he hangs up on me because I wouldn't back down from my offer and he wouldn't back down on his offer. I mean, I'm pretty sure people have heard of "Bartering down" offers. And, it's not like the *company* would be losing a lot if they *are* a *company.* After all, they can screw over their other customers they have and still be on the + side of things by the end of the day. But nope, they have to get that extra $40 from me. Makes me wonder if they are getting ready to go bankrupt.
So... after all that crap that went down on the phone... (basically us going back and forth with the same thing and 2 hang ups with the corporate person himself, one while I was in the middle of freaking talking) I headed over to the store that had my 3DS and was not happy. First, another person from their corporate had come in to "deal with me" and say they wouldn't be able to do it... even though they could. Then when I start saying that I could have this place shut down from going to the local Chamber of Commerce and the Better Business Bureau and letting them know that they are charging more than "the price tag they had given me" he said "threats were not going to get them to work on it" Which... again I think if you have a customer with a "written receipt" which has the power to be major evidence.... that can screw a whole company over if you don't charge what it says on the receipt. After all, that is illegal to charge more than what is written down (as far as what my dad had told me earlier... and pretty sure that is true for the most part lol)
Then, as a deal breaker as to whyI got my 3DS back from them with no job done to it... They weren't coming down in price... but the guy even said that they didn't have any idea what they were doing and they couldn't guarantee that the 3DS would even be working after they were done with it...
*My thoughts* "Why the hell did you guys even accept the freaking thing if you don't even know if you are able to do it?!?!"
But either way I got my 3DS back... a little... in shape I'd rather have had them been a bit more gentle with (a cut mark on a place that should have been... but it wasn't even smoothed out and it's all bulged out)
But... the original guy still had to make one more mention... the guy who had helped me sort of on Saturday... "You still owe us $10!"

*My head* "Yeah, you BETTER not make me pay for anything"
So yeah, that is the story of how MIT Computers (www.mitcomputers.com) is the worst place to go to get anything done because, they charge an arm and a leg, have HORRIBLE customer service that hangs up and insults you over the phone, will not even come down in price, and will try and say they can do anything even though they can't and might destroy your item in the process.
Yep, real good customer service.
NOW however, I'm going to have a friend's friend that is part of a business like this (and by the site, looks like they might even do it for cheap too) but actually talks about doing things and even knowing how to mod certain things too. So having a bit more confidence that this guy might be able to actually do it since they know how to mod things like controllers and the guy himself has even done capture card installations on GBA's DS's and many more systems too.
I won't post the info on that site yet because, I'm still not sure if they can do it. However, if they ARE able to do it, they will be mentioned on my Youtube channel and everyone on there can thank them for the job well done.
